Methods to Document the Pain
A through way to document a patient’s muscle pain in fibromyalgia is probably to give them blank silhouette line drawings of the font and back of the body and ask them to place markings at the locations of their muscle pains. (For blank body outlines see the entry in Fibro Wiki for Pain Drawings.
In the experience of the author of this wiki, some patients get engrossed in this process and even emotional when describing their many pains as they draw them out. In some cases, the recall of each pain triggers memories of them. Doctors are often too rushed to get into this level of detail. However, more study is needed as this process can be highly informative (and perhaps even cathartic).
